A little about the album:

Over two years in the making featuring recordings from around the world. It's been a labour of love for so long I had to get some legendary personelle involved.

post productionIt was mixed by Jan Erik Kongshaug from ECM who has worked with some of the greatest jazz and contemporary artists of our time like Keith Jarrett and Chick Corea. I had it mastered by my one time lecturer and Grammy award-nominee Jonathan Wyner who has lent his skills to Miles Davis and David Bowie albums.
Here they are: Jan Erik mxing Sharp & Flat at Rainbow Studios in Oslo and Jonathan listening on his giant speakers at M-Works studios in Boston.

I launched the album in September 2012 to critical acclaim - check out these quotes:

 4 Stars ????  - Irish Independent
"Fuses jazz and modern classical music in a compelling fashion. Jackson's subtly evocative compositions have an intrinsic beauty to them and his virtuosic playing will remind many of the acclaimed American jazz pianist Brad Mehldau."

“A fresh and fascinating collection."

4 Stars ????  - The Sweet Oblivion Blog.
"a beautiful and energetic collection of piano-based songs... the whole album is altogether a joy to listen to."

Thoughtful and meticulously crafted…delivered with impressive conviction." -Cormac Larkin, The Irish Times.

"Reminds me of Bill Evans and Ravel, I mean that as a compliment." Bernard Clarke - RTÉ Lyric FM

Then I toured it with me on piano and fender Rhodes, Shane O'Donovan on drums, Dave Mooney on double bass and Ken Rice on viola. We had a blast playing in Kilkenny, The National Concert Hall in Dublin (we'll be back there this August!), Sligo and Galway en ligne. We've had great national airplay and big thanks to everyone who has supported the rare thing of an independently released instrumental album, especially everyone at Lyric FM who seem to really dig my tunes.

Here's some photos of me and the band. L-R Shane, Dave, Sam, Kilkenny gig, Galway gig.
